Rewards and Notifications

5 min read

This page covers the Liquidity rewards board that helps you find where to earn maker rewards, Referral rewards for inviting friends, and the notification bell that keeps you posted on fills, funds, and followed markets.

#Liquidity Rewards

The Liquidity rewards page at /rewards (in the top navigation) is a discovery board of markets that currently pay Polymarket maker/liquidity rewards. It shows which markets pay rewards right now; your own earned rewards are shown on your profile (see below).

You earn a share of a market's daily pool by resting a limit (maker) order inside the reward band: within ± the market's spread of the midpoint, at size ≥ the minimum. Buy orders sit below the midpoint, sell orders above — both count. The pool is split pro rata among all qualifying orders.

Tip

Look for a high daily pool and low competition market, then rest limit orders there. Maker orders pay neither Polymarket's taker fee nor the platform fee — see Fees.

#Columns

UI label What it means
Market The market (with its event); click through to trade it.
Spread The reward band: your order must sit within ± this many cents of the midpoint.
Min size Minimum order size, in shares, to qualify.
Pool/day Reward dollars paid per day. This is the default sort.
Competition A 1–5 bar. Green (few bars) = less crowded; red (many bars) = crowded, so your share is smaller.
Volume 24-hour traded volume for context.
Price Current Yes / No price.
1D One-day price change.
Ends The market's end date.
Trade (button) Opens the market so you can place your limit order.

Click any column header (or use Sort by on phones) to re-sort. A date filter (All / Today / This week / This month) narrows the list by end date. The page is read-only — there is no claim button here; rewards accrue automatically to qualifying makers.

#Where your own earned rewards show

Your personal reward earnings don't live on /rewards. They surface on your profile — a "Rewards $X" figure with a payout history, and yield rows in your activity — once you've actually earned them.

Note

Rewards come from resting limit orders. Market orders don't qualify. Learn how to place a limit order in Placing a Trade.

#Referral rewards

Referral rewards (/referral, in the account menu) gives you a personal invite link. When someone signs up through it and trades, you earn a percentage of the trading fee the platform collects on their trades — not a percentage of their trading volume. Your rate is shown on the page once you sign in.

  • Earnings are credited daily and shown as Pending and Paid out, with a By day breakdown and a Who you referred list (each person's masked email or wallet, their volume, and what you earned).
  • Payouts are made weekly in USDC to your trading wallet: each Monday at 12:00 ET settles the previous Monday–Sunday (ET), once your balance has reached the minimum shown on the page (Payouts start at $10); a smaller balance carries over to the next week. A Referral reward paid notification tells you when it has been sent.
  • If someone invited you, enter their code under Have a referral code? A code can be entered once, and only before your first trade; to change it afterwards, contact support.

#Notifications / Alerts

The bell in the navbar shows recent notifications and a badge with your unread count. Opening the dropdown marks everything read. You can filter by category tabs — All, Traders, Markets, Copy and System. Each notification deep-links to the relevant place — a fill opens the market with the right side preselected, a copy-trade event opens that copy trade, deposits and withdrawals open your portfolio (/portfolio), an Auto trade event opens /split, and a referral payout opens /referral.

Fill notifications are emitted server-side, so they arrive even when your tab is closed, and they're deduplicated by transaction hash, so each fill produces one notification. Copy-trade fills and failures also notify.

#Notification types

Type Triggered by
Order filled Your own limit/market order filled. Shows side, size, price, outcome, and market.
Winnings redeemed Resolved winnings redeemed to your wallet.
Deposit received A deposit landed in your wallet.
Withdrawal sent A withdrawal transaction confirmed.
Withdrawal failed A withdrawal transaction failed.
Referral reward paid A weekly referral payout was sent to your wallet.
Copy-trade filled A mirror order was submitted to the CLOB for one of your copy trades.
Copy-trade failed A copy attempt failed (still retrying).
Copy-trade retry exhausted A copy attempt gave up after the max retries.
Copy-trade paused A copy trade hit its loss limit (it stops buying but keeps mirroring the trader's sells), or — as Copy trade paused: orders keep failing — a real copy was paused after 20 orders in a row failed because trading isn't enabled on the account.
Automated trading stopped: no fill in 7 days A real Auto trade run that held nothing was switched off automatically because it had no filled position for 7 days (counted from when it was created or last held shares). A run that holds shares is never stopped this way.
Favorited trader traded A trader you follow made a new trade.
Favorited market resolved A sub-market you favorited resolved.
Favorited event resolved Every sub-market under a favorited event resolved.
Favorited match live A favorited match kicked off / went live.
Favorited score update The score changed in a favorited live match.
Favorited price move A favorited market's price moved sharply.
Favorited market closing A favorited market is closing soon.
Note

Deposit and withdrawal notifications are delivered via an Alchemy address-activity webhook (push) with a polling cron as a backstop, so a transfer produces exactly one notification whichever path sees it first.

#Favorite-alert triggers

Favorite alerts use fixed platform thresholds. You choose which markets, events and traders to favorite or follow, and these triggers then apply automatically:

Alert Fires when
Favorited price move A favorited market's price moves ≥ 15 percentage points over 24h
Favorited market closing A favorited market is within 1 hour of closing
Favorited match live A favorited match kicks off / goes live
Favorited score update The score changes in a favorited live match
Favorited market/event resolved A favorited market (or every sub-market of a favorited event) resolves
Favorited trader traded A trader you follow places a new trade (capped at 10 per user per cycle)
Note

These thresholds (15 pp price move, 1-hour closing window) are platform defaults and are not adjustable per user at the moment.

#Requirements

  • You must be logged in for the bell to appear and for notifications to be recorded.
  • Reward earnings require resting qualifying limit (maker) orders in a rewarded market; nothing on /rewards needs to be claimed manually.
  • Favorited-market alerts require you to favorite the market/event/trader first, and fire at fixed thresholds (see Favorite-alert triggers).
