Orders and P&L
This page explains how to track your orders and how BOOPOLY calculates profit and loss (P&L). Order tracking is backed by an order ledger built from exchange data, and P&L is booked at the cost that actually settled.
NoteFigures are reconciled against the exchange. While a fill settles on-chain, it can take up to about a minute to appear.
#Order records
Open the account menu (your avatar in the navbar) and choose My positions & history to reach your own page at /user/[address]. Your Positions, Closed positions and Activity history are there, plus an Order history tab that appears only on your own page and lists your orders with their fills.
The data comes from a backend order ledger sourced from the exchange, rather than from what the browser assumed would happen. A reconcile engine keeps it in sync:
- It maps each on-chain fill to the exact order and records the transaction, fill size and price.
- It corrects out-of-date statuses — for example, an order marked cancelled that is in fact still resting on the book is set back to open.
- It distinguishes a cancel by you from an exchange auto-cancel (the exchange can remove a resting order when its collateral is used by a later fill).
Orders are also tagged by source — Manual, Copy (copy trading) or Auto (automated trading) — so you can filter the order history by where the order came from.
#Order statuses
| Status | Shown as | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
pending |
Pending | Order submitted, not yet confirmed on the book. |
open |
Resting | Resting on the book, no fills yet. |
partially_filled |
Partial | Some shares filled; the rest still rest on the book. |
filled |
Filled | Fully filled. |
canceled_user |
Canceled (you) | You cancelled the order. |
canceled_exchange |
Canceled (exchange) | The exchange auto-cancelled it (e.g. collateral reused, or the market stopped accepting orders / resolved). |
canceled_chase |
Canceled (bot) | Automated trading cancelled the resting order (timeout, re-price, or stop). |
expired |
Expired | A GTD (timed) order reached its expiry. |
rejected |
Rejected | The order was rejected. |
NoteEach cancel is attributed to its actual source. When a resting order leaves the book of an active market without filling and you didn't cancel it, the engine records it as an exchange cancel with the reason.
#Notifications
Order and money-movement events fire notifications — including when the browser tab is closed, because they are emitted server-side and deduplicated by transaction hash. You are notified for fills, deposits, withdrawals, and redeems. See Rewards and Notifications for the notification centre.
#How P&L is calculated
P&L on BOOPOLY is designed to reflect the money that actually settled, not the nominal price shown on the order book.
- Settled cost, not nominal price. The CLOB match price can differ from the USDC that settles on-chain: after trading costs, a buy can cost a little more and a sell return a little less. BOOPOLY scales each order's nominal price × size by the settled ratio, so booked P&L reflects what actually moved.
- Settled / redeemed positions count as realized. A position closed by market resolution (redeemed at $1 for a winner, $0 for a loser) is realized P&L, the same as a position you sold. Only still-open, unresolved holdings count as unrealized.
- A "closed position" is net-zero. A closed position has been fully sold or redeemed, so it is no longer a current holding and has no shares left.
- Cumulative P&L uses a dedicated P&L series. Your accumulated P&L comes from a purpose-built P&L series rather than a sum of current positions, which would no longer include winners once they are redeemed.
NoteP&L figures are reconciled from on-chain settlement and are provided for your information. They are not a formal statement of account or investment advice; your on-chain balances and fills are the definitive record.
